This Earth Math Study is written in three parts. The three parts together make up a complete study on predicting carbon dioxide emission from passenger vehicles. However, each part is designed so that it can be done independently. Relevant answers from preceding parts are included in each part as needed.

In the first part you will model gasoline consumption for passenger vehicles in the United States.. In part two you will use this model to estimate the amount of CO2 emitted by passenger cars. In part three you devise a plan to decrease emissions

When you have completed these sections, summarize your findings in your journal.
